So since I"m brand-new to owning syrians the means I gained them didn"t leaving me with much time to perform my research study as i did with my dwarfs prior to I acquired them and also I know the care for syrians and dwarfs room slightly various in regards to what lock eat, times they sleep and also how they live and the cage sizes but so much none of that is a problem.I"ve to be doing mine research and also watching so plenty of YouTube videos and this one girl provided her long hair syrian a bathtub in luke warm water in her bathroom sink.. Now I understand that through dwarfs this is a negative idea cos when they"re wet your body temperature drops and some dwarfs have passed away from that and also others just enter shock or they get stressed and what not so I believed to myself is it not the same with syrians or room you an alleged to provide them a bath? I have actually chinchilla dusting flour (it"s really just sand..) the I offered for mine dwarfs, initially it was intended as a sand bath however they currently use it as a toilet so happy days didn"t even need to potty train castle lol but anyways Ive given it to th syrians too but they do a chaos of the cage so now I just get a bathtub half fill with the sand and also let them one by one walk nuts in it. So will certainly that suffice or do they actually need a bath?? I"ve seen many videos of civilization bathing their hammies in the sink.. The has puzzled me a small considering it"s negative for dwarfs so I believed I must come here and ask more experienced syrian owner beforw I carry out anything..

NONONO never ever bath any type of hamster in water, EVER! Sand baths are absolutely fine though, simply make sure it yes, really is sand and also not dust. Anything also fine will certainly irritate their sensitive respiratory systems, so watch because that that.

Never ever EVER bathe a hamster in water. It could harshly shock castle or offer them an infection and make their fur look all greasy and also messy.

It"s great that you have actually dusting powder yet I"d recommend gaining bathing sand as it has less dust in and is better for hamsters, but dusting powder will certainly be it s okay for currently

Us (my sis and also I) almost did for this reason ourselves until we read up on it. A lot of of human being like using children"s beat sand, however only if it"s sterilized. I"m no too certain if Syrians gain sand baths as lot as dwarfs but I have actually never tried it. Ns hope every goes well!

No, you should never bathe a hamster. If you do, it gets rid of its natural oils in your fur and also could get them cold or worst. Hamsters spend many of their time grooming us so the wouldn"t be a big problem. Although, you can purchase sand bathes or use safe sand the is sterilized, hamsters generally roll approximately in the sand acquiring rid the the dirt. However don"t usage dust or flour baths.

D: Nooo

I myself don"t own a Syrian however bathing any kind of hamster in water is bad. The washes off their herbal oil coat :P and it could really freak them out, considering they just swim if they need to.

Yeah friend should shot it! ns bet her hammies will certainly love the as lot as mine do and also not usage it as a toilet together my dwarfs do yeah I know there"s tons of potty training stuff which I had planned ~ above doing eventually as i was slowly adding much more t the cage. I offered them the sand bathtub to dig in and to aid with their nails and it"s meant to be really great for the coat as well so that"s why I gained then the sand and also for the first week they love it and also rolled about in it as they were supposed to yet then because that some factor started making use of it as a potty instead.. And also just prior to I was around to purchase a edge potty and also the litter native amazon as I had actually them saved in mine basket for the following week and also then i noticed they had stopped peeing in the cage and started peeing in the sand but what deserve to ya do? She likes doing the so ns leave her to that
